The "3-D Seismic Survey at Habiganj, Bakhrabad & Meghna Fields’ Project" is a prioritized national upstream exploration initiative executed by the Geophysical Division of Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited (BAPEX). Mandated under Petrobangla and the Energy & Mineral Resources Division, this project undertakes high-density 3-dimensional seismic data acquisition to accurately map complex subsurface geological structures.

By deploying cutting-edge seismic telemetry recording spreads, precision RTK-DGPS surveying, controlled shot-hole pattern drilling, and advanced geophone arrays across Habiganj, Bakhrabad, and Meghna gas fields, the project identifies untapped gas-bearing reservoirs, evaluates deeper exploratory horizons, and optimizes future drilling targets to bolster national energy security.
